OK Nancy, now I will give you my opinion....It depends! lol
If you really want results I would go with the LVRS (I am currently in testing), if you feel you have time and are willing to gamble on getting the vents in a trial well then apply and see if you are accepted, and hope you are not in the control group. If you think that the Emphysas Valves are going to give you the same results as LVRS...fergetaboutit, no one that has been in any of the vent trials has has the success stories of the LVRS people.
Where do you live, what insurance do you have, how old are you, what is the quality of your live now,how much are you willing to gamble to have a better quality of life are just some of the questions.
If you have a pulmonary doctor that is encouraging you why not get tested and see if you qualify. To qualify for the Emphysas Vents you must meet the same requirements as if you were going to have LVRS, so if you test you will be ready for the vents when and if they are approved or LVRS if that is your choice....or finally.... you will be able to forget about it because you are not a candidate.
