I know this sounds counterintuitive, but slow tiny sips of water usually helps ease my coughs. We never want to supress productive coughs as we need to huff out as much sputum as possible.
Sometimes we tend to associate problems and try to stop the urinary problems by not drinking fluids only to have it backfire as a cough that's too dry to get the irritant out of the chest area. Our COPD has cost most of us the celia which helps move mucous up and out, so it helps to loosen it as much as possible and huff it up and out.
You commented that it "was lightcolored until yesterday...." which suggests to me you might actually a brewing an infection that's not necesarily going to induce a temperature....Might be worth letting a good lung Doc listen to the lungs and perhaps treat as a "just in case" situation...
