Have you tried contacting the cranbrook mueum and the craft shop. The museum houses paintings from the old colony and they should be able to answer your questions. I don't know if you have already tried this or what information you already have on this subject. Also in Cranbrook a few years ago we use to have the New Cranbrook Colony where artists would meet on a monthly basis and sit in on a lecture or presentation of another artist who would discuss their work. It was brilliant. But we are no more. It takes alot of effort to keep something like this going. And having the contacts in order to keep artists coming in every month. We also had our own exhibitions which were always fun to do. And i have to say that i do really miss the interaction of other artists. Alot of people who were members were quite knowledgeable about history and art so if you contacted the Craft Shop which is posted on the Cranbrook website then you could get help from here as well. The lady who runs the shop was also a chairperson to the New Cranbrook Colony and may be able to point you in a direction of some kind. Also have you tried asking the antique dealers and auction houses in Cranbrook. They may be able to help also. I wish you luck in with your endeavors. Unfortunately i know nothing of this artist. If it was Friedrich or Botticelli then yes. Best wishes Tina Donovan
