Having read the recent article in Private Eye, I felt that it was very important to find out more about this project. You are right to consider the needs of the whole community but cannot do so to the permanent detriment of the space within which you all worship, its history and indeed its national importance. Not only that, given the presence of a vestry house and other buildings close by, surely more could be made of them - I would beg that the community does not allow an inappropriate intervention to be forced on them. They are the 'ecclesia' and therefore have the carrying vote, whether designers, architects or, indeed, vicars like it or not.
