The white paint on the main door is a traditional wood preservative, which has been used in our church and many others for centuries. Hopefully it will ensure that the same door will be in use for many decades to come. At the time this was done, this was explained in the Courier by one of our churchwardens in response to a similar accusation from someone in the community! It has nothing to do with any proposals for re-ordering! As for health and safety not being at the expense of heritage, that's an interesting concept......
