"I am looking to contact anybody who might know of the Hobbs family who used to live in Cranbrook from around the late 1700's through the mid to late 1800s. Joseph was my gr-gr-gr-grandfather and was born around 1820. He was a cordwainer/bootmaker/leather cutter according to the various census reports. I believe his father was William Smith Hobbs and I would like to try and discover who William's wife was as well as both of their families heading backwards. Joseph's wife was Sophia Usherwood; they married in December 1844 and had, amongst others, my gr-gr-grandmother Kate Clara Hobbs. If someone has some information could they please me.
