The combination of the beautiful scenery and seeing the next painful hill was like being force fed your favorite desert for 6 hours. Not sure whether to rejoice in the splendor or curse the next helping. Great race. Excellent organization. It looked like the entire population of Bar Harbor was out to support the race. Thanks for creating some amazing memories!
This was my first MDI marathon as a walker and I've got to say, it certainly lives up to the billing as the most beautiful marathon course in the country! The spectacular colors and breathtaking scenic coastline were so distracting I nearly decided to quit, sit by the roadside and start composing bad poetry.
