
Posted by gary allen on November 21, 2006, 9:59 am From the Merrimack Valley Striders: At the Philadelphia Marathon on Nov 19, Molly Taber (2:44:43) and Caroline Kondoleon (2:45:21) qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials to be held in Boston on Apr 20, 2008. The qualifying time is 2:48. Molly and Caroline were 1st and 2nd American women at Philadelphia, and 3rd/4th overall. This is Molly's 2nd time qualifying for the Trials. She ran 2:42 in Chicago in 2002 and participated in the 2004 Trials in St. Louis. They join fellow Striders Seana Carmean (2:45:23, Hartford, 2006) and Jill Boaz (2:45:31, Twin Cities, 2005) as MVS Qualifiers for the 2008 Trials.

I ran with this duo until about 16 miles, as you can see they really dusted me over the last 10. I thought they looked pretty serious and obiviously they were as they both got their tickets punched to attend the US Ladies Olympic marathon trials. As for me it was an honor to even run with them and I'm happy to report I did get one joke in about some mushy roadside music that was anything but inspirational and they both laughed. As for me I just missed, by 5 seconds the ladies B standard..... I guess nothing some careful surgery couldn't fix right up..laugh!!
