Thanks Gary, Mary and all the other Crows for making my 57th marathon one of the best. My favourite races are ones that are well organized and showcase some of the most beautiful and interesting places on earth and Mount Desert Island deserves top points in both categories. Among the marathons I have run I would place MDI in the same category with New York City and Big Sur. I don't know what it is about Maine but every time I race there it seems nothing can go wrong. Gary, you suggested to me before the race that if I went to the half in 1:32 I would probably pass a lot of runners and come home in 1:28. You must be physic beacaue that is pretty close to how my race played out. I didn't make the 1:28 second half but I did move up several positions and hit nearly even splits. I never felt so strong in the final miles of a Marathon and with the help of gravity my 26th mile was my fastest. Both Crow events I attended have been fantastic. I can't wait for your 4th of July Relay. Thanks again for all of your efforts.
