Thank you from a walker

I want to personally thank everyone involved in the marathon. As a walker, it means a lot to be included and welcomed to participate. I am a 50-year-old woman and this is my first ever athletic competition. Growing up, I was awkward and slow and always the last person picked for teams in gym class, not that I could blame them! Walking is something I enjoy and can do for many years to come. I especially appreciated all the runners who gave words of encouragement as they passed me on the trail. The local people were also so welcoming at us marathoners invading their space. Thanks again to all of you! Hope to see you again, this time with another walker in tow!
