I think you can go under 3, but you HAVE to run easy early, no faster than 6:55-7:00 until the top of the hill. This will put you exactly where you need to be to have a lot of run left in your legs and to be able to use the downhills to your advantage. In other words the same effort will translate to 6:45s and better and you'll break 3 hours. Incidently I'm no expert on running or this course and will never claim to be but in my 13 appearances in the 25 total editions of Sugarloaf it has never taken me more than 3 hours to cover the ground, needless to say I'll be doing my best to make sure it doesn't happen in #14
