Just a quick note to say great job to ALL of our 2006 Mount Desert Island participants! On behalf of our host running club, our fantastic race committee, all of our important sponsors, our enthusiastic volunteers and all the wonderful communities the MDI Marathon passes through, we'd like to extend our warmest greetings and most heart felt Congratulations to you all! It was truly our pleasure to share our roads and our island spirit with EVERYONE who took part in making the 2006 MDI Marathon such a memorable day! Rest up, see you all soon! Your friend in Running and Race Directing, Caw! Caw! Caw! Gary PS Whoever helped make the weather happen (or not happen) as was the case! thanks for listening. It was fun to NOT feature any gale force winds, earthquakes, monsoon rains, or thunder and lightning storms, not to mention arranging to have the leaves at their outrageous peak fall colors!!! i already thanked the One who gave us the perfect weather yesterday....couldn't have been a better scenario for the first marathon i've run. i was able to run in one of my favorite spots on earth, and perfect conditions. Thanks Gary and crew for a great race and a great day!! As always, you organized a terrific race and an outstanding group of volunteers! I convinced 3 first time marathoners to run MDI this year (they still like me!) and we all had a blast! See you next year! Thanks so much for putting on such a beautiful marathon. I was so impressed with the spirit and friendliness of your volunteers. It was a perfect day and the course was so challenging that it really left lots to talk about. I also appreciate your advice about how to run the course. I followed your advice to the letter and managed to come through without much difficulty. Thanks again.
