Posted by Clare Reed on October 16, 2007, 12:53 pm I originally decided to run MDI as it was said to be one of the most scenic marathons out there and a group of us from Boston's Community Running decided to check MDI out this year. And I have to say, this marathon experience was the best a first timer could ever had hoped for. There were no walls to hit, no hills that could stop me, and no mile intimidating. The crowed on and off the course was outstanding. The weather couldn't have been better and what a pretty course. I have to admit I was too busy watching the sites, cheering on the walkers, smiling, and cheering back to the crowd to even think about how many more miles to go. Mile 20 came and then the last few miles just flew by and there I was crossing the finish line. What a wonderful journey. I am so happy that I was lucky enough to have picked MDI for my first marathon experience. I don't think this could have been replicated anywhere else. Thank you MDI orginizers, volunteers, supporters, MDI walkers, runners, and all the wonderful spectators along the route. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you, |
