Pretty neat to see that the MDI Marathon brought Red Lobster representatives to Bar Harbor, and that they obviously liked what they saw! This is something that not only Bar Harbor, but the whole Mount Desert Island Community should be proud of! Opening this week, Metroplex residents will see a new restaurant with more natural looking decor, warmer lighting, colors and wood tones inside. According to Kim Lopdrup, president of Red Lobster, “The inspiration for the redesign came from Bar Harbor, Maine, and blends a more sophisticated ambience with the casual feeling of a seaside restaurant.”

For real authenticity for that natural looking decor, they're also commissioning Madame Toussaud's Wax Museum to make a model of Gary to put in the lobby; he'll be in a lobsterman's hat, slicker, and bib overalls, and spritzed daily with the foulest smelling eau de bait-bag. No word on a similar statue of Ms.Ropp, post-mud run.
