PS Being invited to the world famous Tribeca Film festival which included a little bit of driving was a no brainer as far as my attendance went. It got better upon arrival because at the theater were Alan Steinfield, (Freds race coordinator), and it was packed with runners, sponsors, politicians and others who appeared in the film and from the early days of the NYRRC/NYC Marathon. The films director was there as was Amby Burfoot, he said he ran the race seen in the opening shot back in 1969. He was momentarily surprised to see me but quickly corrected himself and said, " but of course you are here", this was of course a darned big compliment from a true giant in our running world. Actually there was a Q and A session after the film and I shared my, "when I grow up I want to start one of these back at home" story and and it got a hearty round of applause. Oh well as for me pretending to be anything but what I am which includes working as hard as it takes to take running in Maine to a higher place, no matter who I piss off...well, it's all good! --Previous Message-- : ahhh...that sir is a trade : secret....laugh!....actually you already : know the answer, but for a hint watch the : clip from the movie again, especially the : closing shot where Fred is pounding his : shoulder with a strange massage ball springy : gadget?? That silly, shit eating grin : showing him just toying with the media, is a : prime piece of your answer.... besides : taking it to another level Fred taught us : that growing up is way, way over rated. : : : : --Previous Message-- : "when I grow up I want to start one of : these back at home". : : Are you saying you are all grown up now? : : :
