I wonder if anyone has any experience of finding a death certificate for a person lost at sea. I have discovered that my Gt Gt Grandfather Thomas Cross was lost overboard in a snow storm off Plymouth on 12th March 1858. He was aged 34yrs serving in the Merchant service on the Elizabeth Mary Ann bound for Pentewan. There is a Thomas Cross dying Stoke Damerel 2nd Quarter 1858, not him. Ideas please
