Mary Maria Pethybridge made complaint that William Uglow, who had been adjudged the father of her little girl and ordered to pay 2s 6d per week towards its support, had failed to do so for 36 weeks, and in addition to that there was a balance due of 2s 6d towards the costs. Defendant did not then appear, but a warrant was issued and before the court rose he was present, having been fetched from his work, and was sent to prison for 6 weeks.
