I have been searching for my father - Arthur or Stanley Woodhouse b. Exeter in the 1921 census.
He was born illegitimate February 1918. I have a gut feeling he was still in the Exeter Workhouse.
He would have been 3 years old.
Would people in the workhouse have been enumerated?
There is no place to insert 'Exeter Workhouse' when searching.
His mother Phoebe Woodhouse married John Foster 1920 and dad grew up with his surname so name could be Woodhouse or Foster. My father spent most of his first years in the workhouse because of his mother Phoebe Woodhouse neglecting him. A chance he might have been still in workhouse mid 1920.. Source: April & May 1920 British Newspaper court records.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.
