I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the BALLYMAN family of 'Hart', in Heandon Puncharden, or the PARMINTER family of Marwood?
It seems the estate of Hart has disappeared now, and sadly I can't find any information on it online. The Ballyman family possibly came from the Uffcolme area before settling at Hart, but it's difficult to find anything much on the family at all.
My ancestor was John BALLYMAN (gentleman) who married ('mistress') Martha PARMINTER (of Marwood) in 1726. My ancestor was their only child, Mary Ballyman (born 1727) who married into the Chichester family, and the estate at Hart then passed to their descendants.
I'd love to learn more about where they lived, what ventures or businesses the families might have been involved in, anything at all that helps put together more of a story on their lives.
Often families like these have a good history/tree put together of their ancestors and ancestral homes but the Ballyman's and Parminter's have been a bit difficult to trace (unlike the Chichesters)!
Any advice would be very much appreciated,
Thank you : )

If you go on the National archives site and put in Harte Heandon Puncharden it comes up with details of documents held at North Devon Record office mentioning the estate. It would appear that a family named Dillon also involved at that time. One entry refers to John Chichester son of William, and his wife Mary Ballyman.
