The most expensive drama ever made by the U.S. streaming company and its first to be made in the UK, will trace the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding in 1947 to the present day. It is expected to span 60 episodes over 6 seasons, with always unconvincing Claire Foy playing the Queen in the early part of her reign. Matt Smith plays her husband prince Philip, Jared Harris is King George VI, Vanessa Kirby will play queen's sister princess Margaret. John Lithgow will be British prime minister Winston Churchill, with Greg Wise portraying Lord Mountbatten. Jeremy Northam and Ben Miles also star. Oscar winner Stephen Daldry is directing some of the episodes"
