    British actor JEREMY NORTHAM who stars alongside GWYNETH PALTROW in new movie Possession says he's unlucky in love.

    In the romantic drama, Northam - who also starred in Gosford Park - plays a 20th century poet who falls in love with a fellow writer played by JENNIFER EHLE.

    In real life, the unmarried 40-year-old says he hasn't been in love for the last six years.

    He concedes: "I think I've given up on it now. Your juices only run a few times like that don't they?"

    But the London-based actor still sees a glimmer of hope...

    IT'S a new season, so there must be a new man in the life of top model Lisa Butcher, who split from brooding actor Jeremy Northam earlier this year - the lucky fellow is 27-year-old communications head Alex Maclean.

    The pair were at an after-show party for hypnotist Paul McKenna on Sunday, and, says a pal: 'She once complained there were no men in London and the very next day she met Alex. They've been together ever since.' Lisa, 28, who got through two husbands by the age of 24 - one was short-tempered chef Marco Pierre White - says she still prefers artistic men with strong personalities.

    However, her liaison with Northam, 38, was short-lived and he was last seen nightclubbing with busty girl-about-town Marie Helvin.

    YET another hunk has appeared on the arm of supermodel Lisa Butcher actor Jeremy Northam, whose leading ladies on film have included Gwyneth Paltrow and Sharon Stone.

    Somewhat unusually, Lisa was reticent about discussing her relationship with 37-year-old Jeremy, who accompanied her to an exhibition at the Hamilton Gallery this week.

    Says Lisa, 28, who had a bizarre 15-week marriage to bad-tempered chef Marco Pierre White: 'I am fed up with people going on and on about the men in my life. It's boring.' However, she did reveal she is no longer with American producer John Paul Wyndham who followed polo player Tarquin Southwell, who followed her second husband, Chilean polo professional Gabriel Donoso, by whom she has two daughters.

    'Rather than men, I'd prefer to talk about work,' adds Lisa. 'I want to get into television.'
