I have noticed several places offering to sell new CA (2008) Jurat & Ack forms. I have always created my own in word. (Why pay for what I can do on my own).
I intended to copy off of the SOS web site also, and also found the updated ones not there. So I called.
Per the person I talked to (gov. employee always take with a grain of salt) the SOS has not yet posted the new postage because:
The new law states what must be removed, in an acknowledgment, and a Jurat, but did not state what must be said on the new form (as the old law did). SOS legal dept is still mulling over whether some of the verbiage in the bill requires more than the obvious changes. Additionally they expect some cleanup bill to be passed, to fix the credible witness, and document custodial notarial wording, that was overlooked in the bill that passed.
She implied that just removing the "personally known" verbiage may not pass muster with final SOS interpretation of the bill.
