I'm all for self promotion. I'm all for networking, and anyone putting up funds to sponsor an event should be recognized. I had a blast at the San Diego event. I was fun to put faces with names, learn a little about our competition, and learn what worked, and didn't for others. That said, at the San Diego event I felt a few people got preachy, and demigod-ish. I'm assuming thats what Joe was referring to.
