My husband and I bought a car in March 2006 and apparently the notary gave us the wrong liscence plate. We found out in August, he called us twice and we forgot all about it, now the plate is up for renewal and the lady that has our plate is threatening to report her plate stolen and have us arrested. We called the notary and he said he filed paperwork with Pennsylvania state stating he made a mistake and it is now up to us to find the lady and switch plates, he laughed and hung up. Can I take legal action? I feel he should refund our notary fee since we have to do his job by going out of our way to trade liscence plates with this lady.
