Amy, If I told the borrower in the initial contact call to get a copy and they have time and just forget then I tell them they must get a copy the next day and fax it to the company that day. The onus is on them to do so since they had time to get a copy.I let the company know why there is no ID in the package.(Not my fault since I gave the borrower notice)) If its a last minute closing and a copy cannot be obtained, same applies as the company understands they did not have time and will accept it the next day also.
