If the appointment cancels after I've already printed docs then a print fee of $25 applies. If I made a trip and they decide not to sign at the table (depending on the distance) I charge a $25 trip fee in addition to any print fee. If the signing is completed and the borrowers exercise their right to rescind, payment is required in full. It is not the signing agent's responsibility to ensure that a loan closes and funds. Nor should any signing service/lender/title company expect to pay for or re-negotiate the fee for services contracted based upon the outcome of the signing and the funding of the loan.

: I'd like to hear from some of you about
: what is reasonable when after you
: print docs, spend time and money going
: on a closing appointment and the
: signer is a no show and later calls
: and says they are not going through
: with the loan? I've always charged
: half price on that and felt that's
: reasonable. I had one scheduler today
: that has just started sending me deals
: object to any fee at all when their
: signer cancelled, and said their
: office manager wasn't familiar with
: the practice of paying anything for a
: cancelation. Any comments?
: As independent contractors I think
: it's unreasonable to just let someone
: have us print up docs, spend money on
: gas and use up our time and then get
: paid nothing for it when their client
: cancels... What say you?
