I agree with you Janet . As I remember, it was 85cents a mile 10 yrs ago.

: Janet K is right. We need to determine
: our overhead expenses including car to
: know if we are breaking even, making
: minimum wage, or making a living.
:
: I get 38mpg. My car costs 81c per mile
: to own and operate including cost of
: car, maintenance, gas, oil changes,
: license, interest on loan -
: everything.

: At that rate, I don't see how volume
: is
: any kind of an incentive. Why would
: anyone want to book up their calendar
: with appts that -- if they're lucky --
: allow them to break even, after
: expenses and fees.
:
: On some board a while back, someone
: posted a link to an article that
: talked about measuring miles per
: dollar instead of per gallon. I think
: that's a pretty soberly way to look at
: it. Of course, you need to keep in
: mind that the number you come up with
: doesn't include maintenance,
: replacement costs or insurance for
: your car, either!

: I agree, dont do it. When approached
: with those offers I asked them if
: gasoline went down to $1.,00 a gal,
: and toner and paper suddenly went
: down, or has respect for the notary
: just plummeted to an all time low.
: Believe me, you will NOT get any more
: volume of signings. That is the pure
: unadulterated BS they are dishing out
: nowdays.

: I received an e-mail today from
: Transunion Settlements saying they
: will now prioritize signing
: assignments based on fee, with the
: lower fees getting the most
: assignments. Specifically they want us
: to lower our fees to $46! That's
: ridiculous, and I urge you to tell
: them NO!
