No Way Would I put someone's identification on the hard drive /Chip to my camera and then stick that in my computer to print for clients. I don't know anything about computers but I'm pretty sure there would be an "imprint" somewhere on my hard drive forever. I love going the extra mile but that's just not something I resonate with. Of course, if you want to do it, it's Your Business! love, kelly

: Amy, If I told the borrower in the
: initial contact call to get a copy and
: they have time and just forget then I
: tell them they must get a copy the
: next day and fax it to the company
: that day. The onus is on them to do so
: since they had time to get a copy.I
: let the company know why there is no
: ID in the package.(Not my fault since
: I gave the borrower notice)) If its a
: last minute closing and a copy cannot
: be obtained, same applies as the
: company understands they did not have
: time and will accept it the next day
: also.

: If this becomes necessary, I tell the
: borrower that I can take a photo with
: my digital camera and then print it
: out back at my home office. I have
: never had anyone say no. I always
: delete it off my camera and my
: computer after I print it out.
:
: Some notaries absolutely will not take
: photos of ID because they don't want
: to possibly be accused of identity
: theft. I always ask borrowers to make
: a copy and only offer the digital
: photo option if I need to.

: Question: I was an escrow officer so i
: always made copy of the borrower's ID
: and kept it for myself. This was very
: useful when the lender requested copy
: of ID later on. As a Loan Signing
: Agent, you may ask the borrowers to
: make copy of their ID, but what if
: they don't have access to a copy
: machine or they forget?
: Is it ok to take picture of their ID
: with your digital camera?
