Kelly is right: the Small Business Development Centers are terrific.
SBDC offices are funded by the Small Business Administration (SBA), an agency of the Federal government.
SBDC counselors are FREE! They have MBA degrees and most have additional experience and training as consultants.
Find your local office via this website:
http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/sbdc/sbdclocator/index.html
If you don't find an SBDC office in your area, look for other SBA offices by visiting
http://www.sba.gov/localresources/index.html
I have used SBDC and SBA offices in many cities in two states. Even after being self-employed for 20+ years, I still use their counselors. They are THAT good!
Good luck!
