    Bournemouth charity idea

I know the choices are endless and everyone will have a preference but how about donating any flag money left over to a children’s charity in Bournemouth? I bet they took took good care of our Tom….. just a thought

AFC Bournemouth have 4 nominated club charities, which would be a nice gesture after the support and care their club provided Tom and the rest of the squad and staff.

But the fundraising page already nominates two heart charities. Which is also appropriate.

As I said food for thought? Wouldn’t want to challenge the great people on here responsible for this wonderful gesture.

I do think it’s a nice idea, and someone else also mentioned it on here I think.

It sounds stupid but I just wasn’t sure, it being the internet and all, how ‘ok’ it is to add another charity onto the page after people have already been donating.

I’m sure I’m just over thinking it though, so will amend it now. Would be a nice touch as a thank you to afcb.

                  Cheers

One thing I am regretting is using Paypal over one of the other platforms, as it seems they're taking a fee from the donations, though. Which I didn't think was the case when I set it up. Oh well.

I think that it is the same with virtually all platforms - they have to pay the running costs.

It is still a fantastic total even if you deduct the fees and I'm sure that the charities (and Tom and his family) will be thankful for your efforts in organising this.

One thing that you should possibly make clear now, rather than later, is whether it is a three way split between BHF, SADS and Bournemouth's charities (with their share being split four ways) or a six way split.

I would say split three ways but it isn't my choice to make.

Just to be absolutely clear, I am not criticising you in any way - I just think that it is better to be specific early on rather than the possibility of any ill feeling if some have interpreted it differently to what you intended.

Yes I do agree. It feels like a slight minefield.
I'll clarify that in the post (I agree, split three ways makes sense).

I’d suggest maybe a Charity of AFC Bournemouths choice?

Following the Milk Cup Final between Norwich and Sunderland which became known as the Friendly Final a Trophy is played for every time the teams meet.
Maybe something along these lines could be introduced to show the great crowd reaction following Saturdays drama.
