Recall this was discussed on here, but is he eligible on Sat?

My understanding is that abandoned games do not count towards suspensions, so he is banned for the Newcastle game.

However, anyone who was booked in the Bournemouth game has that yellow card on his record. Had anyone been sent off, they would also be suspended for Newcastle.

That is as I posted on Saturday - seems unfair that bookings stand when goals don't and suspensions are carried over.

I haven't seen confirmation but I can't see how he can be.

If the AFCB game is replayed in January (possibly the date of the 4th round of the FA Cup day if both clubs are eliminated), would the teams have to comprise players who were eligible for last Saturday's match? In which case wouldn't Nakamba's absence be backdated to that game?

Or could both teams play whoever is registered at the time, including any new signings in the January window?

I'm sure the PL will just make up the rules as they're going along.

No, that is the rule for cup games.

There was an incident many years ago where a player (can't remember who it was) played in an abandoned game. By the time the game was rearranged, he had been transferred to the other club and played for them in that game. Effectively, he played for both teams in the same game although the first game was void so, technically, didn't count.

Wouldnt he just have to miss the Bournemouth game, whenever it is replayed?

I don't think that is how it works.

When a fixture is abandoned through no fault of either team then the decision to reschedule is purely a matter for the League to decide. There is absolutely no reason to suggest that the game will not be rescheduled in full in due course esp as it was 1-1 at the time. That is why there are no definite rules anywhere because it is a matter for the league.
Everything that happened in the abandoned game is wiped away except for disciplinary sanctions. Any cautions in that game do count going forward.
It the case of Marvellous he has a one game suspension to serve and he has not missed that game yet so he is ineligible for Saturday.
When the fixture is rescheduled all players are eligible subject to suspensions at that time or playing against their parent club.
