    Pelly

Just to express my view that I hope Pelly appears in the New Years Honours list.

Personally have little time for the whole system but, given we have it, here is a man whose achievements in the past 10 years are unique and outstanding in English football. I don’t need to rehearse the detail in this forum.

Honours are all too often given to people who have just done their job and, for the OBE, “Other B****rs Efforts” is often the appropriate title. Here we have a man who is a ‘first’ through application and loyalty. To be playing in the PL is remarkable. And it reflects on our club.

I wrote to Gary Sweet a few months ago asking the club to kick start Pelly’s nomination. No reply but perhaps it has acted. If he does not appear in the list could we open the issue to a least get him nominated?

You can nominate Pelly for an Honour. Information and forms are on the Gov Website.

On the loyalty bit. Didn't he delay signing a new contract a couple of times in case a better offer came along? Had that offer come, would he have stayed?

I think that's what some people assumed but I'm not sure there was ever any actual evidence of that . . . or was there?

                  Football is a short career.

You have to get the maximum you can imho.

Yes well done. He's a footballer who's managed to play for the last 10 years coincidentally for a team that has been promoted a few times.
