Forest appeal results today
Posted by Highland Hatter on 1/5/2024, 8:19:28
Rumoured on TalkSport that they'll get 2 points back. News on the appeal should be today, at 1pm, if previous announcements are anything to go by.
If true, changes nothing for us in the sense that we still have to win our 2 home games, at least, and hope Forest don't win vs Sheff Utd. As per the Wolves match, not expecting anything vs West Ham away, unfortunately, but if Forest beat Sheff Utd, we'll need at least a draw at WH as NF will be 6 points clear with a better GD.
It makes a big difference if so. As it stands if we win all 3 games Forest need to win their 3. With 2 points back they can lose one if they win the other two. Same principle if we win 2 etc.
Is this based on the rumour started by Hawksbee/Jacobs? The same pair that said a few weeks ago, there was a ‘strong rumour’ forest would be deducted an extra 2 points?!
It's hard to imagine that they will give points back again, it would show the whole process to be weak. It would be frankly embarrassing for the EPL and all involved.
That said, I can see them giving in with a whimper stating that their are new rules coming anyway. Question is, will lessons have been learned?
I suspect most of us can guess at the answer . . .
"It's hard to imagine that they will give points back again, it would show the whole process to be weak. It would be frankly embarrassing for the EPL and all involved"
And that will make a difference ..... how, exactly????
I think, maybe wrongly, that the entry level for a basic breach, which they admitted, is 3 points, so I don't see how they get 2 back. That said...they probably will.
