It was really more a case of not really having known what was going on with probably about the most important component of the whole deal. I know that my recovery time is pretty bloody decent and have taken a few heart rate measurements but a couple over the course of running a couple of thousand k isn't really a profound understanding of my heart's fitness.
I do get a bit geeky about my average pace and that so, sure, you're not a million miles out but I'm 50 and the reason I do it is to make sure I'm going to live longer so having an eye on something the quack's have deemed worthy of a second look seems sensible. These are the divs who had no answer to my knee pain when I got over 6k other than to 'have a rest for a couple of weeks'. £100 to an osteopath told me weak gluteus medius.
Cheers, Jim
